Leeds Rhinos will wait until the end of this season before deciding whether to offer ryan hall a contract for 2027. Hall is 38 and his deal at AMT Headingley is due to expire in the coming months, leaving his future tied to how he finishes the year.

Brad Arthur on Hall

Brad Arthur said there is no decision to make yet on Hall’s future. “I’m not sure at the moment,” he said, before adding: “With Hally, at the moment, we’re seeing how he goes and we’ll get closer to the end of the season and see where he where he is with his body.”

That gives Leeds a clear timeline without forcing an early call on one of Super League’s oldest players. It also leaves Hall playing out the rest of the campaign with his place in the 2027 plans still unresolved.

Six tries in 15

Hall has scored six tries in 15 appearances in all competitions for Leeds so far this season. Brad Arthur said that return has not been for lack of effort. “It’s not like he’s leaving tries out on the field,” he said.

Leeds have preferred attacking down their left edge at times this season, and Maika Sivo has benefited from that pattern. Arthur said: “Sometimes that’s just the way it goes. I don’t think Hally could have done any more to register any more points. We favour the left side at times a little bit and Ash (Handley) has got a fair bit to play in Maika’s try tally, for example.”

Charnley moves ahead

Josh Charnley’s hat-trick last weekend pushed him ahead of Hall on the Super League try-scoring charts. Arthur said there have been no internal discussions about helping Hall get back above Charnley.

“It’s great the guys get individual accolades and I’m sure Hally will get back in front one the seat at some stage. But those rewards are nice for individuals but it doesn’t take centre stage. It’s a team sport and that’s what the focus is on, a team performance. If they get some individual honours along the way, that’s great,” he said.

For Hall, the immediate picture is straightforward: finish the season, then wait for Leeds to decide whether 2027 belongs in the plan.
