Floyd Mayweather faces two criminel charges in Las Vegas over allegations that he issued a $200,000 check without enough funds to buy a watch. He did not appear at a Monday court hearing, and a hearing in the case is scheduled for September.

Las Vegas Check Allegations

Mayweather, 49, was accused in April of theft and of issuing and delivering a bad check with intent to defraud. The check was allegedly issued in December 2024 through Wells Fargo and was intended for the Las Vegas luxury resale shop Gold and Beyond.

An attorney represented him at the hearing. The case now moves toward the September court date, where the Las Vegas proceedings can advance on the charges tied to the alleged watch purchase.

Mayweather's Other Legal Disputes

The Las Vegas case adds to a run of other disputes involving Mayweather this year. A judge ordered him to pay $1 million in child support in March, and he was sued in New York earlier this year for allegedly failing to pay rent on a Manhattan apartment.

He has also been involved in financial disputes with several jewelers and filed a lawsuit in New York against his former business manager over alleged fraud that lasted several years. Those cases sit alongside his announced return to competitive boxing this summer.

June And September Fights

Mayweather is scheduled to fight Mike Zambidis in Athens, Greece, at the end of June. He is also scheduled to fight Manny Pacquiao at the Sphere in Las Vegas on September 19.

For now, the criminal case is the immediate legal issue in front of the court. The September hearing gives the case its next fixed step while Mayweather’s boxing schedule continues around it.
