Kiki Iriafen and Shakira Austin were listed as questionable for mystics vs sun on June 17 in Connecticut. Washington could be short two rotation players again when it meets a Sun team that already has Hailey Van Lith out.
Iriafen and Austin Status
Iriafen is dealing with a right ankle sprain. Austin is listed with knee soreness, leaving Washington with two frontcourt concerns on the same injury report.
The Mystics entered Wednesday at 5-7 after a road loss to the New York Liberty on Sunday afternoon. Michaela Onyenwere scored 17 points and grabbed four rebounds in that game, while Sonia Citron added 12 points and three rebounds.
Connecticut Sun Injury Report
Connecticut came in at 2-13 and had dropped five straight after a home loss to the Indiana Fever on Saturday night. Leila Lacan scored 11 points with seven assists and four steals in that defeat, and Olivia Nelson-Ododa added 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
Van Lith was ruled out with a left ankle contusion and was set to miss her third consecutive contest. That leaves Connecticut already managing one notable absence before tipoff, and the Mystics’ status decisions could tighten the rotation at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Washington At Connecticut
The game was scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, as a WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Eastern Conference matchup. If Iriafen or Austin cannot go, Washington would have to replace two players while trying to steady a season that had already slipped to 5-7.
