Lexington police are continuing the search for 39-year-old Elena Katherine Moore after new details tied her last known movements to fitness at Planet Fitness on June 11. She signed in at the gym at 6:40 p.m., then was last seen later that night, giving investigators a tighter window and location to work from.
Planet Fitness on Whiteford Way
Moore was last seen on June 11 and reported missing on June 12. Police said she frequents the Planet Fitness at 560 Whiteford Way, where a photo appears to show her and where she signed in that evening. She was wearing an olive green zip-up hoodie with black athletic pants.
Investigators said Moore was reportedly walking away from the gym toward the wooded area behind Lowe’s Home Improvement. No trace of her was found there on Monday, when first responders gathered behind the store as police searched the area.
Footage on Old Cherokee Road
Recently obtained camera footage added another fixed point in the timeline. It showed Moore walking through the Publix parking lot at 100 Old Cherokee Road on Thursday, June 11, and then walking in the direction of Old Cherokee Road at 9:17 p.m. That puts her movement on camera hours after the 6:40 p.m. gym sign-in.
LPD Investigator Missy Silcox said Moore’s husband reported her missing. Police said they do not yet suspect foul play and do not believe she is in imminent danger. They also said Moore likely had a phone with her, but it was not pinging on Monday, which leaves fewer electronic traces to follow as the search narrows to physical locations and camera footage.
