Kate Middleton reportedly ended any prince harry royal reunion this summer after Prince Harry’s comments about King Charles’s cancer battle. The change in her position lands as reports also said King Charles wanted a family meeting at Sandringham in Norfolk, England, with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet present.

A source said Middleton had “totally killed off” the idea of a reunion with the Sussexes. The same insider said, “For a long time, Kate tried to rise above all the drama because she genuinely believed there was still a path toward some sort of peace between Sussexes and the royals.”
That earlier view appears to have shifted after Harry’s 2025 interview, when he said he “didn't know how much longer (his) father had.” Royal author Christopher Andersen said Middleton was upset by what she considered “horribly demoralizing” comments about Charles’s illness.
Sandringham and Prince William
Reports said Charles was trying to reunite the brothers at Sandringham in Norfolk, England, and hoped Archie and Lilibet would be there. Reports also said there was resistance from Prince William despite his father’s wishes for reconciliation.
An insider said, “She bent over backwards to avoid escalating tensions and always hoped things could eventually calm down.” The same source said, “from her perspective, every carefully choreographed overseas appearance and every so-called royal-style tour has chipped away at that goodwill.”
The source added, “She now feels Meghan and Harry are deliberately blurring the lines between celebrity branding and royal duty while still cashing in on the status that comes with their titles.”
King Charles’s Family Meeting
The reported break with Middleton’s earlier position narrows the path to the summer meeting Charles had wanted. A courtier said William was “apoplectic” over Harry’s comments, leaving the family split over whether the Sandringham encounter should go ahead with Archie and Lilibet in the room.
For now, the reported reunion effort rests with Charles’s side and whatever response follows from William, Harry, Meghan, and Middleton. The next public marker is the family meeting itself if those efforts survive the pushback described in the reports.
