Pakistan vs Bangladesh flipped on Saturday in Dhaka as Mohammad Abbas took 5-92 and Pakistan closed the second day on 179-1 after dismissing Bangladesh for 413. Azan Awais, making his international debut, was unbeaten on 85 and had Pakistan well placed after an opening reply built around a 106-run stand.

Abbas Breaks Bangladesh

Bangladesh resumed Day 2 at 301-4 and still pushed on to 413 before Abbas finished the innings with five wickets. He removed Mehidy Hasan Miraz for 10 and Taijul Islam for 17 in quick succession, and earlier had dismissed Litton Das for 33 as Bangladesh's lower order failed to hold up long enough to stretch the total further.

Mushfiqur Rahim had already set the tone for the day by raising his fifty from 114 balls. That was his 42nd fifty-plus score in Tests, moving him past Tamim Iqbal's Bangladesh record of 41, while his 62-run stand with Litton kept the innings moving before Abbas cut through it.

Azan Awais Leads Reply

Pakistan answered with a century opening partnership between Azan and Imam-ul-Haq, worth 106 runs. Imam made 45 before Mehidy Hasan ended the stand, but the debutant kept going and reached stumps on 85 with Abdullah Fazal unbeaten on 37.

Taskin Ahmed briefly opened a door when Abdullah edged a wide delivery to gully, but Shadman Islam could not hold the chance. Pakistan still finished the day only one wicket down, and the first Test has moved into a balanced position after Bangladesh had once looked set for far more from 301-4.

Dhaka Test Balance

Litton also crossed 2,000 runs in the World Test Championship during Bangladesh's innings, a separate milestone inside a day that still ended with Pakistan holding the cleaner position. Abbas's spell changed the shape of the Test, and Pakistan's reply ensured the early pressure now sits on Bangladesh heading into the next phase of the match.
