Bierkeller Halifax is back on the market, with the halifax courier noting a £275,000 guide price for the Fountain Street building. The four-storey property is one of the lots in an online auction on May 27. It is being offered again after a previous listing carried a higher guide price.
Fountain Street listing
The building was home to the German-themed bar and party venue from 2022 until January 2024, when the owners announced it would shut for a month for a refurbishment. By March 2024, the Halifax branch had been removed from the chain's website, and the venue's Instagram page said it had permanently closed.
The current sale is being handled through an auction organised by Auction House London. The premises is described as stripped out ahead of a planned refurbishment programme, with two roof terraces and two access points from Fountain Street and Powell Street.
Previous Halifax sale
This is the second time the Fountain Street building has been up for auction. The Courier reported in July last year that it was listed for a sale taking place in September 2025, then with a guide price of £495,000.
The new listing sets a lower entry point for buyers than the earlier figure. For anyone tracking the property after the venue's closure, the shift from £495,000 to £275,000 is the clearest change in the story.
