leon must die forever re9 arrived without warning, and Capcom made the Resident Evil Requiem minigame mode playable right away on all platforms. The free release is now live on PS5 and PC, but only after players clear the campaign first.
Leon Kennedy Gets 20 Levels
Leon Kennedy is the only playable character in the mode, which pushes players through 20 levels before a boss battle with Victor. Capcom describes it this way: "Grace made it home safely, but Leon still ahs work to do. Use his enhanced abilities to complete this minigame as fast as possible."
The setup makes the mode more than a simple bonus arena. Leon has to move through glowing doors, pick up randomized weapons, and keep pace as enemies get tougher deeper into the run, which puts a roguelike structure around a post-campaign activity.
Version 1.300.000 Update
The new mode arrived with the latest Resident Evil Requiem version 1.300.000 update after Capcom had teased in March that Resident Evil Requiem DLC would land in May. That timing matters for players because the release came as a shadowdrop, not as part of a longer rollout.
It also explains the split in the DLC plan. This is not the main Resident Evil Requiem Story Expansion DLC, which is still in development and has no release window. What players got instead is a free battle mode that can be accessed immediately once the campaign is finished.
11 Challenges, More Points
Capcom also added 11 new challenges in the Resident Evil Requiem DLC, and those challenges unlock more challenge points. Players can redeem points earned in the main story to unlock items, so the mode is built to reward anyone who already invested time in the campaign.
For anyone who has already beaten Resident Evil Requiem, the practical next step is simple: load the update and start the minigame. The larger post-game story remains separate, but Leon Must Die Forever gives the game a free endgame loop now rather than later.
