Alex Jenkinson, 39, has been charged after a telegraph of fear near Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s home on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk ended with a police arrest in Wolferton. Norfolk Police said officers were called shortly after 19:30 BST on Wednesday after a report of a man behaving in an intimidating manner.

Police said Jenkinson, of Stowmarket, Suffolk, was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Friday. He faces two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to harass someone or cause alarm or distress, along with a charge of failing to provide a specimen of blood in custody.

Wolferton and Marsh Farm

The incident took place near Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate, where Mountbatten-Windsor lives after leaving Royal Lodge in Windsor. The location puts the case at the edge of the royal estate rather than at a public venue, and it links the alleged threat directly to his home in Norfolk.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Mountbatten-Windsor was threatened by a balaclava-clad man while out walking his dogs and fled to his car with his security. That account adds detail to the police description of intimidating behaviour in Wolferton, but the charge now rests on the offences listed by police.

Mountbatten-Windsor at Sandringham

Late last year, the King stripped Mountbatten-Windsor of his right to be a prince and his dukedom over his links to Jeffrey Epstein. He moved to Marsh Farm after leaving Royal Lodge, and he has always denied any wrongdoing.

For Jenkinson, the immediate next step is Friday's hearing in Norwich. For police, the case now moves from the arrest in Wolferton to the magistrates' court, where the charges can be addressed in open court.
