UT San Antonio said students can learn in Canvas again after the university re-enabled the login link on my.utsa.edu following a global Canvas LMS service disruption. The university also said some Canvas-related tools, features and integrations are still being reconfigured, so full functionality has not yet returned.

Students were told to clear their browser cache and cookies before logging back in. Those who were already signed in when the outage hit were instructed to log out, clear the cache and cookies, then sign back in once more.

Friday, May 8 rescheduling

The university said assignments and exams due on or before Friday, May 8 on the academic campus were to be rescheduled for a near future date. For students whose rescheduled exam now conflicts with a previously scheduled commitment on Thursday, May 14, UT San Antonio told them to contact their instructor as soon as possible.

Faculty were asked to be flexible and make reasonable accommodations for unavoidable conflicts. The school also directed students to Wellness 360 and the TimelyCare app for support, and said Student Assistance Services can help students navigate academic and personal challenges by offering guidance, resources and support.

UT San Antonio support contacts

For urgent situations, students were told to call the Crisis Helpline at 210-458-4140. If they still have problems after logging back into Canvas, the university said to contact Academic Innovation at [email protected] or UTS at [email protected] or 210-458-5555.

UT San Antonio said Tech Solutions, Academic Innovation and Canvas vendor support teams worked to resolve the outage, and the login link was temporarily disabled during that response. The university is still monitoring the system closely with the vendor while it watches for any changes that may be needed for the upcoming summer session.
