bryn bradley has been named in Steve Tandy’s 48-man Wales squad for the summer matches, one of six uncapped players included in the group. The Harlequins centre is part of a wider selection that will feed into four games across the summer programme.
Steve Tandy's Wider Group
Tandy named 48 players for Wales, with 33 based in Wales and 15 based outside the country. Cardiff has 12 players in the squad, Scarlets nine, Ospreys seven and Dragons five, while Bryn Bradley joins Kane James among the uncapped additions.
James, an Exeter back rower, is 21 and a former England Under-20s World Cup winner. Ryan Woodman and Harrison Keddie of the Dragons were also named, along with Rhys Barratt of Cardiff and Ben Warren of Ospreys.
Barbarians And June Timing
The first group of players is due into camp on Monday, 1 June, but the 15 players based outside Wales will be unavailable for the Barbarians fixture because that match falls outside World Rugby's international window. Wales face Barbarians at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham on 27 June before three Nations Championship matches against Fiji, Argentina and South Africa.
Tandy said, "Some players will finish next weekend and then some might not come into the squad until 27 June, so there's a lot of staggering, that's the reason for the extended squad," and added, "There will be an updated squad post the Barbarians game before we go into the Nations Championship." Jac Morgan, Teddy Williams and Max Llewellyn are in after missing the Six Nations through injury, while Dillon Lewis, Tommy Reffell, Joe Roberts and Ellis Bevan were recalled.
Squad Mix For Summer
Tomas Francis and Archie Griffin will miss the summer programme of four matches. The squad blends players returning from injury, recalled names and six uncapped call-ups, giving Wales a larger pool to manage the staggered arrival of players before the programme begins.
