Vanesa McCaskell delivered the highest price is right payout in the show’s 54-year history on Friday’s special Mother’s Day episode, taking home more than $240,150 in cash and prizes. The retired Army veteran’s win beat the old single-pricing-game mark by more than $30,000 and pushed The Lion’s Share into the record books on a game that can pay up to $500,000.

McCaskell’s $240,150 total

McCaskell’s haul came from $227,500 in cash plus a trip to Morocco worth $12,650. She reached that total after winning $2,500 in the first round, $25,000 in the second and $100,000 in the third, then deciding to keep going with $127,500 already banked and two balls left. “The last two numbers are my daughter’s birthday, I have to go,” she told host Drew Carey before taking the risk.

The Lion’s Share record

The record came through The Lion’s Share, a newer high-stakes game introduced during the first episode of the show’s 54th season in September 2025. The format gives contestants a shot at up to five balls and a lose-it-all ball, so McCaskell’s choice to continue after reaching $127,500 made the final total the product of both timing and nerve.

Her win topped the previous single pricing-game record of $210,000, set by Christen Freeman in 2016 during Cliff Hangers. That is the cleanest way to measure where this lands in the show’s history: not just a big payday, but a new benchmark for a single game on daytime TV.

McCaskell and Drew Carey

After the win, McCaskell said, “From ‘Come on Down’ to playing ‘The Lion’s Share,’ it all felt so surreal – a dream moment that only kept getting bigger,” and added, “I was nervous, excited and everything at once.” She also said, “Winning over $200,000 is life changing. I plan to invest wisely, enjoy a little and treat my mom to a special surprise.”

For viewers, the practical takeaway is simple: The Lion’s Share is now the show’s clearest high-end draw, and Friday’s result shows that the newest game on the board can outpace a record that had stood since 2016. McCaskell left with cash, a trip, and the current standard everyone else on the game will now have to chase.
