Julia Letlow hosted a town hall in Alexandria on Friday, May 8, drawing community members and business leaders to the Central Louisiana Technical Community College. The event centered on workforce and economic development in Cenla.
Letlow, Louisiana’s current 5th District Representative, is campaigning for Senate against incumbent Sen. Bill Cassidy. The Alexandria gathering put that campaign in a local setting, with questions and discussion focused on women in the workforce, early education programs, carbon capture, and grocery costs.

The town hall brought together people who live with those issues every day. Business leaders and community members met with Letlow at Central Louisiana Technical Community College to discuss the forces shaping hiring, family budgets, and local growth in Central Louisiana.
Women in the workforce and early education programs came up alongside carbon capture and grocery costs, giving the meeting a broader scope than a campaign appearance built around one issue. Letlow’s Senate run against Cassidy adds a second layer to the event, since the Alexandria stop also let her speak directly to voters in a race already underway.

For Alexandria residents and Central Louisiana employers, the practical value of the town hall was direct access to a Senate candidate who is already serving in Congress. The discussion tied state and local concerns to a federal race, with Letlow using the May 8 meeting to connect her campaign to economic questions that affect households and businesses across Cenla.
