Ole Miss reached the College World Series with a 5-3 win over No. 4 Auburn on Saturday in the 2026 college baseball super regionals. The Rebels won the series 2-0 and turned the game with a three-run eighth inning.
Will Furniss Sparks Ole Miss
Will Furniss delivered the biggest swing, a two-run blast in the eighth that pushed Ole Miss in front for good. Judd Utermark had already pulled the Rebels even with a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth.
That sequence left Auburn chasing after holding the higher seed and a national top-four spot. Ole Miss did not need a third game to close it out, and the 5-3 final ended the weekend in one shot.
Troy Finishes Its Sweep
Troy joined Ole Miss in Omaha with a 7-2 win over Little Rock and a 2-0 series victory. Tommy Egan handled the mound work, striking out eight batters across 7.2 innings.
The Trojans scored in five different innings and got runs from five different players. Blake Cavill drove in two runs, and Drew Nelson added two more. Little Rock’s Jerdy Lopez answered with a home run in the bottom of the eighth, but it only trimmed the margin.
Saturday's Other Super Regionals
No. 3 Georgia beat No. 14 Mississippi State 13-12 and moved to a 1-0 lead in that series. No. 16 West Virginia beat Cal Poly 17-1 and swept 2-0, while No. 5 North Carolina beat USC 4-0 to leave that matchup tied 1-1.
Oklahoma beat No. 15 Kansas 8-1 to go up 1-0, No. 6 Texas beat No. 11 Oregon 11-3 to take a 1-0 lead, and No. 7 Alabama shut out St. John's 8-0 to open its series 1-0. The bracket was built for one goal in these best-of-three rounds: a place in Omaha, and Ole Miss and Troy already took theirs.
