Australia national cricket team has added Ollie Peake and Todd Murphy to its ODI squad for the three-match series in Bangladesh this week. Travis Head and Mitch Marsh will miss the series, leaving Josh Inglis to lead a group that now leans on younger and less-capped options.

Peake, Murphy added in Dhaka

Peake is set for more Australia opportunities in Bangladesh after making his international debut in Pakistan. He had played only six List A matches before that tour and became the youngest specialist batter to debut for Australia in men's 50-over cricket.

Murphy comes in as an off-spinner with seven Test caps and no limited-overs appearance yet for Australia. He replaced Tanveer Sangha after Sangha picked up a hamstring injury in Lahore, while Xavier Bartlett and Ben Dwarshuis have also joined the squad as originally flagged.

Head, Marsh miss the ODI series

Tony Dodemaide said Marsh was still returning to full fitness from an ankle injury. He added, "We were hopeful Mitch Marsh would be available for the Bangladesh ODI series however he is still returning to full fitness from an ankle injury."

Dodemaide also said, "Travis was initially selected in the ODI and T20I legs of this Bangladesh tour but has subsequently been granted personal leave for both." He added, "We look forward to seeing him again for the top end Test Series against Bangladesh."

Inglis keeps the captaincy

Matt Short has been retained from the Pakistan series, and Josh Inglis will remain captain of Australia’s ODI side. Inglis said of the newer players filling in for senior names, "It's a great experience for them".

He also told Peake, "You don't get harder conditions for an Australian than thes". Australia’s first-choice white-ball openers were among the players initially expected back for Dhaka, but the squad now turns to a modified mix for the ODI leg before a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh follows.
