Alan Titchmarsh opened judy parfitt's June 7 appearance on Love Your Weekend by telling viewers it was the last show of the series. The episode arrived on ITV with a final-show message minutes into the broadcast, while the programme is still set to return after a summer break.

June 7 on ITV

Titchmarsh said, "It's the last show of the series today and we're going out with a bang. Judy, are you ready?" Parfitt answered, "I'm ready for anything," before he replied, "Driving Miss Judy. Let's get this show on the road. Time for Love Your Weekend!"

The guest list also included Brian Conley, Freddie Fox, Julian Ovenden and Honeysuckle Weeks. Titchmarsh previewed the programme by saying, "Welcome to Love Your Weekend, where summer's advance continues apace," then added, "In a fortnight, we'll mark Midsummer's Day, enjoying the longest hours of sunlight, and all around us, nature thrives on its warmth."

Summer break, 2027 return

The "last show" line referred to the end of the current run, not the end of the series itself. Titchmarsh said Love Your Weekend had secured recommissioning through the end of 2027, giving ITV a continuing weekend property even as the programme takes a break over summer.

That combination leaves the message clear for regular viewers: this was the close of one stretch, not a permanent exit. The June 7 episode also brought in horticulturalist Ashley Edwards with drought-resistant plants, food and drink specialist Andy Clarke with festival fare, and the cast of High Society ahead of their forthcoming West End debut.

Parfitt's turn in the spotlight

Parfitt was the named guest at the centre of Titchmarsh's opening line, and she kept the exchange moving with a direct, one-line reply. For a series built around seasonal television, the on-air handoff fit the format: a finale, a summer pause and a recommission through 2027 all in one episode.
