The Carolina Hurricanes beat the Golden Knights in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, and Jarvis ended it with an overtime power-play goal after a comeback. The series now carries a split through two games after Vegas won Game 1 in comeback fashion.

Jarvis Ends It

Jarvis slammed home the winner on the power play in overtime, finishing the game with the play that mattered most. Carolina had already pulled itself back into the game before he finished the job.

Staal had given the Hurricanes the lead with a tipped-in power-play goal, and that came after Jankowski had scored an equalizer from the slot. Those swings kept Game 2 moving through a tight middle stretch before overtime settled it.

Vegas Pushes Back

Stone tied the game by tossing in the rebound, keeping the Golden Knights alive after Carolina had found its go-ahead touch. Earlier, Stankoven had broken through in the third period, while Howden pushed to the net and buried another goal for Vegas.

Howden also opened the scoring by zipping Marner’s dish into the net, setting the first edge in a game that kept changing hands. Hart later stopped Svechnikov’s rebound attempt, a save that fit the back-and-forth feel of the night.

Game 3 Aftermath

The result leaves the Stanley Cup Final level after Carolina answered Vegas’ Game 1 comeback win with one of its own. NHL.com previewed Game 3 between the Golden Knights and Hurricanes, and the next shift in the series starts with which side handles the pressure better after an overtime finish like this one.
