pokemon GO will add Squawkabilly on June 23, 2026, during the Flying Taxi event. The debut runs through June 29 and gives players a new regional catch to chase without an evolved form attached.

Squawkabilly in Flying Taxi

Niantic dropped details for the Flying Taxi event, and Squawkabilly is the headline addition. The Pokémon first appeared in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, where it serves as the go-to Flying Taxi service, and it will spawn in the wild during its Pokémon GO debut.

Squawkabilly also becomes a Field Research reward encounter during the same June 23 to June 29 window. That means the debut is not limited to wild spawns alone, so players who want more than one chance at the new species will have a second path through event tasks.

Four Plumage forms

Squawkabilly arrives with 4 different color variants, and Pokémon GO will split them by region. Yellow Plumage and White Plumage will spawn worldwide, while Green Plumage will only appear in the Eastern Hemisphere and Blue Plumage will only appear in the Western Hemisphere.

That setup gives collectors a cleaner target than a standard regional drop. Two of the 4 variants are available everywhere, while one form is locked to each hemisphere, so players in different regions will not be chasing the same full set from the same pool.

June 29 and July 11

Squawkabilly will not have any Shiny versions available when it debuts. That narrows the hunt to the base forms for now, which makes the regional split the main variable for anyone trying to complete the set during the event.

Many Pokémon GO fans are already focused on 2026 Go Fest, and the timing adds another layer of competition for attention. The first two in-person events in Tokyo and Chicago have already taken place, Copenhagen is coming up soon, and Pokémon GO Fest Global 2026 is scheduled for July 11.

For players, the practical takeaway is simple: the June 23 to June 29 event is the window for Squawkabilly, and the important decision is whether to hunt the worldwide Yellow and White Plumage forms or coordinate for the hemisphere-locked Green and Blue versions before the event ends.
