Manchester United's man utd ederson transfer news has moved to the front of their summer plans, with the club all but securing Atalanta midfielder Ederson. They are still chasing more help in midfield and attack, and that leaves their recruitment team balancing one near-finished deal against several live targets.

Ederson Leads United Plans

Ederson is the clearest part of the picture. United want to expand, strengthen and balance their squad, and the Atalanta midfielder sits at the center of that work as they look for at least one more midfielder and potentially another forward at Old Trafford this summer.

The move matters because United are not treating midfield as a one-name search. Mason Mount was played in a deeper position in midfield towards the end of the season, and Tyler Fletcher, who is 19 years old, is expected to be more involved with the first team next season after gaining extra experience from Scotland's World Cup campaign before he returns to Carrington later this summer.

Mateus Fernandes And West Ham

West Ham's Mateus Fernandes is the other immediate target. United are exploring a deal for him, but West Ham value him at around £80m and are in no rush to sell after signing him for an initial fee of £38m last summer.

That price tag gives United a clear test on valuation. The club have been described as unlikely to move on a player if the numbers are too high, and Fernandes has been placed into that same category as they weigh whether to push forward or keep their options open.

Elliot Anderson, Alex Scott, Baleba

The rest of the list shows how broad the search remains. Elliot Anderson stays high on United's list and they have a long-term interest in the Nottingham Forest midfielder, while Forest have already rejected an initial offer by Manchester City's neighbors for him.

Alex Scott is another long-term target for United, but Bournemouth have begun talks over a new contract and he is deemed not for sale this window. Carlos Baleba also remains on the radar, though a significant breakthrough in valuation would be needed between United and Brighton for that move to happen.

Napoli's Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is on the wish list as well. He has two years left on his contract, sources close to him believe he is open to a move to the Premier League, and United may look to sign two more midfielders in addition to Ederson if the market breaks their way. Manuel Ugarte is expected to leave after having little impact last season, and United will hope his World Cup campaign with Uruguay lifts his resale value this summer.
