Bungie said destiny 2 maintenance is now live with Monument of Triumph available to all players. The update brings changes to the Director, destinations, loot, rewards, vault space, loadout slots, and Sparrow Racing League.
It also adds Kepler and the Lawless Frontier to the Director, while Portal activities, bonus engrams, bonus focuses, and the Seasonal Hub remain accessible. Bungie said the portal ops categories are built into the Director itself.
Director Changes
Bungie said the update changes the Director at the center of gameplay and adds new navigation for Kepler and the Lawless Frontier. Over the past three weeks, the studio’s Activities, Sandbox, Rewards, RAD, and Commerce teams shared deep dives into the systems changing with Monument of Triumph.
The tab labeled Portal is gone. Bungie said players can still reach Portal activities, bonus engrams, bonus focuses, and the Seasonal Hub, even after the layout change.
Destinations And Loot
Bungie said it has revitalized each pre-Edge of Fate destination’s loot with new perks, tiered weapons for non-craftable pools, and set bonuses tied to those themes and stories. Destinations with crafted weapons will receive additional perks per column, and a new event appears during Distortions that only occur on certain destinations.
The studio is introducing Distortions on seven destinations. That sits alongside the new loot structure, which also affects activity difficulty and rewards, armor archetypes, and set bonuses.
Exotics And Inventory
The update includes 25 new Exotic weapon catalysts, plus perks for older catalysts. Bungie also said vault space and loadout slots are increasing, giving players more room to store gear and save builds.
Sparrow Racing League returns in Monument of Triumph. For players who log in now, the practical change is immediate: the new systems are already live, and the revised Director now places the updated destination and activity structure in one place.
