Southern Tier blanked the Genesee County Spartans 23-0 on Saturday afternoon at Pembroke Town Park, and the Stallions did it by scoring in every quarter. The Northeastern Football Alliance loss left the Spartans without a point at home while Southern Tier moved to 2-0.
Southern Tier Keeps Pressing
The Stallions did not need one big burst to take control. They scored in every quarter and forced seven turnovers, a steady turn of pressure that kept the Spartans from settling into any part of the game. By the end, the score line matched the way it unfolded: Southern Tier kept taking possessions away and finishing drives.
That approach also cut off Genesee County’s running game. The Spartans never found a way to build offense on the ground, and the repeated turnovers made every series harder to recover from. In a game where field position and extra chances usually decide the pace, Southern Tier kept both in its favor.
Harry Rascoe And The Spartans
Harry Rascoe got off a pass during the third quarter, one of the few offensive moments that stood out for Genesee County. Logan Pike and Brian Alexander were part of the game as well, but the Spartans never turned those moments into points.
The shutout is the clearest marker from the afternoon. Southern Tier left Pembroke Town Park with a 23-0 win, a 2-0 record, and a performance built on turnovers and defense rather than a single scoring surge. For the Spartans, the result was a clean break in the wrong direction, and the numbers tell the story without needing much embellishment.
