Radio 2 in the park has revealed its full line-up for City Park in Stirling, with Chaka Khan set to headline Saturday night and Simple Minds closing Sunday. The three-day event runs from Friday 11 September to Sunday 13 September, and tickets go on sale on Wednesday June 10 at 8.30am.

Chaka Khan and Simple Minds

Chaka Khan said: "Stirling is such a magical place. I just love the charm and spirit of the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’. Can't wait to share the songs, the love, and make some beautiful memories together."

Simple Minds will play their only UK performance this year on Sunday night. Jim Kerr said: "Well we are delighted, we're really delighted." He added that the band saw Stirling as especially significant because it is close to home and because the show would be "Simple Minds' first and only gig in the UK this year."

Friday pre-party tickets

A Friday night pre-party will open the weekend with DJ sets from Sara Cox, DJ Spoony, Gary Davies, Michelle Visage and Rylan. Tickets for that pre-party are priced at £40 plus booking fee, while Saturday and Sunday tickets start from £84 plus booking fee.

For Radio 2, the booking leans hard into scale as well as locality: Jeff Smith said it was "a real privilege" to bring artists including many of Scotland’s greatest to Stirling for this year's event. He added that the line-up spans genres and that there is "truly something for everybody."

Stirling line-up names

Emeli Sandé, Lulu, James Blunt, Jack Savoretti and Blue are among the other acts set to perform across the weekend. Danny O'Donoghue said The Script would try to sneak in one or two songs from the new album, and that the set would definitely include Superheroes, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved and Breakeven.

The cleanest reading of the schedule is simple: the headline value sits on two nights, but the Friday pre-party gives the event an earlier entry point and a lower-priced ticket, which widens the weekend’s reach before Chaka Khan and Simple Minds take over.
