Love Island USA returned to Peacock on Tuesday night for Season 8, and viewers asking what time does love island come on are getting a new setting with it: the cast is now filming in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands. Ariana Madix said the villa was designed for maximum romantic impact, which is as blunt a production brief as reality TV ever gets.

The Season 8 setup puts the Islanders inside a custom-built villa in western Fiji, where the franchise has filmed since Season 5. That run has also included California, Las Vegas and Hawaii in earlier seasons, but this version is built around two stories and a mix of secluded and public spaces, with a photo booth, speakeasy, Soul Ties outdoor daybed and the Say Less waterfront lounge.

Ariana Madix and the villa layout

Madix added another layer to the tour with a line that sounds half joke, half mission statement: "For maximum clarity, all poolside conversations will be captured from a minimum of five flattering angles,". The villa’s design is meant to push conversations into view, and Peacock said more key moments will unfold at the firepit and oceanfront boardwalk.

That matters because this is not just a prettier backdrop. The structure of the house shapes the pace of coupling-up, who gets seen, and where the show can force a confrontation. A two-story build with both hidden corners and open sightlines gives producers more room to steer drama without changing the format.

Fiji's Mamanuca Islands setup

Casa Amor is also based in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands, and Peacock described it as a short traveling distance from the main villa. In the U.S. version, that twist has become one of the franchise’s most efficient pressure points, because it splits attention between the main villa and a second group of Islanders without moving the production out of the same region.

Season 6 showed how hard that setup can hit. Kaylor Martin and Serena Page were shown videos of Aaron Evans and Kordell Beckham getting close to Casa girls Daniela Ortiz Rivera and Daia McGhee, and the reveal led to an explosive confrontation at the fire pit.

Season 6 fallout returns

Kordell Beckham and Daia McGhee ultimately survived the Casa fallout, and he went on to win the show with Serena Page. Kaylor Martin and Aaron Evans left the villa as a couple after Season 6, although their relationship did not last, which is the kind of post-villa reality that usually matters more than the edited rush to the finale.

Only 10 Islanders had filmed so far for Season 8 after Vasana Montgomery was removed before the first episode, following resurfaced social media videos that allegedly showed her using a racial slur. For viewers, that means this season begins with a smaller field than the franchise normally uses, while the Fiji location and Casa Amor’s proximity give producers the same tools they have leaned on since Season 5.
