amc theatres Busan room rates surged before BTS’s June 12 and June 13 concerts, with one room that usually cost 60,000 won a night reportedly jumping to 760,000 won. The pricing spike hit the short window around the ARIRANG world tour dates and immediately turned lodging into part of the concert bill.

Officials checked 135 Busan hotels and motels and found average concert-week room rates more than doubled versus the weekends before and after the event. Motel rates more than tripled from normal levels, hotel rates nearly tripled, and some properties set prices more than five times higher.

Busan Prices Reach 1.8 Million Won

Some rooms that normally sold for 100,000 won climbed to 750,000 won, while 300,000 won rooms reached 1.8 million won. That scale puts the squeeze on visitors who planned around two concert nights rather than a weeklong stay, and it gives local lodging operators a brief but highly visible pricing test.

Fans also reported accommodations canceling existing reservations after the concert announcement. One fan said, “I made a reservation months ago, but they canceled it citing overbooking or remodeling, and then sold it again at a higher price.”

Fans Push Back Online

Online reaction turned blunt fast: “I won’t spend even 1 won in Busan,” one commenter wrote, followed by “I’ll even buy water in Seoul and bring it” and “Zero spending in Busan!” The backlash shows that the pricing issue is already shaping how some concertgoers plan the trip, not just how they feel about it.

Busan has launched joint inspections focused on possible violations of the Public Health Control Act, and city officials said they are warning businesses against excessive hikes while planning targeted inspections of accommodations drawing visitor complaints. For anyone headed to the city on June 12 or June 13, the message is plain: lock in lodging carefully, because the room rate is now part of the concert’s real cost.
