Sangare’s return was the headline selection call. His previous start came in the 5-0 win at Sunderland, and this was his first chance back in the opening lineup since the end of April. Andoni Iraola’s team still had a route into the Champions League, but it depended on results elsewhere. They needed Aston Villa to lose at Manchester City and Liverpool to beat Brentford for sixth place to be enough. That left Bournemouth waiting on two other grounds while Forest’s changes were already settled on their side of the team sheet.
