Summers and Corkill won who won the american rodeo 2026 team roping title at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Their win came at The American Rodeo Championship Weekend, where the title race moved from Friday night semifinals to Saturday’s final rounds and ended with the last four teams roping for the championship.
Globe Life Field Title Run
Fifteen qualifier teams opened the competition on May 22, 2026, roping in the semifinals at Globe Life Field. The top five teams from Friday night advanced to Saturday, where they joined the five invited teams from the 2025 world standings in the Showdown Round.
From there, the field was cut again. Ten teams roped on Saturday, the top four moved on, and those final four teams each got one more run for the American Rodeo team roping title. Summers and Corkill finished that sequence with the championship.
Qualifiers Through Three Regions
The road to Arlington ran through three regional finals: West, East and Central. Each regional sent five teams to Championship Weekend, giving the qualifier side 15 teams in all before the semifinals began.
That structure separated the qualifier teams from the invited teams from the 2025 world standings. The qualifiers were the only teams eligible for the $2 million bonus, while every event winner at The American earned $100,000. For teams that advanced through the regional system, the weekend carried both the title chase and the bonus chase.
Two Days On The Broadcast
The American Rodeo aired live May 22-23, 2026, across Cowboy Channel, FS1, FS2 and FOX. Coverage opened with the semifinals on Friday night and built to the championship round and final on Saturday.
For readers following the format, the result was decided exactly where the event was designed to peak: after the regional qualifiers, after the Friday cut, after the Saturday Showdown Round, and after the final four got one more chance. Summers and Corkill were the last team standing at the end of that run.
