Alisson and Alexander Isak are set to train with Liverpool on Friday, giving the club a timely boost before Sunday’s match and a key Liverpool game today update for Fantasy Premier League managers. Arne Slot said the goalkeeper will train and that Isak will do so for the first time with the squad.
Slot Adds Friday Training Update
Slot delivered the fitness news at his Friday press conference. “Ali will train with us today, so that’s a positive. Alex will train for the first time with us today, parts of what we are going to do. To a certain extent, both positive.”
That is the clearest sign yet that Liverpool may have two more options available for Sunday. Both had missed Gameweek 37, and Friday’s session is the first step back into team work for Isak after his first full involvement with Liverpool is set to begin.
Salah Stays Out Of View
Mo Salah’s role remains separate from that upbeat update. Slot was asked about the forward’s comments at the same press conference and responded: “I think Mo and I have both the same interests: we want the best for this club. We want the club to be as successful as possible. We were both part of giving our fans their first league title in five years but we are also aware of this season. What we want, what he wants, what I want, is the club to be as successful as we were last season. That is where my main focus is.”
He then declined to say whether Salah will feature on Sunday. “I never say anything about team selection, so it would be a surprise to you if I did that right now.”
Frimpong, Endo And Injuries
Jeremie Frimpong missed out in Gameweek 37, while Wataru Endo had hoped to play before the end of the campaign. The wider injury list still includes Hugo Ekitike with an Achilles injury, Conor Bradley, Stefan Bajcetic and Jayden Danns with hamstring injuries, and Giovanni Leoni with a knee injury.
For managers tracking Liverpool Gameweek 38 decisions, Friday’s update points to movement at the top end of the squad without clearing every doubt. Alisson and Isak are on the grass, Salah’s status is untouched, and the bench picture still depends on which of the sidelined players can get through the final training work before Sunday.
