Texas Tech turned the texas softball score into a 10-8 win in Game 1 of the Super Regional, and three Red Raiders left the yard to do it. Mia Williams, Lauren Allred and Lagi Quiroga each homered in the opener.
The 10-8 result gives Texas Tech the opening game of a postseason series and puts the Red Raiders one win from moving on. Williams also added a double, while Allred and Quiroga supplied the extra-base damage that kept Texas Tech in front.
Mia Williams Drives Texas Tech
Williams finished with a double, a home run, three RBIs and one run scored. She was also hit by a pitch twice, a line that shows how often she reached base while Texas Tech kept pressure on the opposing defense.
Allred produced four RBIs with her home run, and Quiroga added a double, a home run and two RBIs. Those three bats accounted for most of the Red Raiders' key damage in a game that reached eight runs for the other side.
Ava Brown Hits Two Homers
Texas Tech still had to hold off a counterpunch. Ava Brown hit two home runs and drove in five runs, while Townsen Thomas also homered and drove in one, and Madison Walker added another home run and an RBI.
That made the opener a high-scoring test instead of a runaway. The Red Raiders answered with enough power of their own, and the 10-8 finish leaves the series tilted in their favor after one game.
Texas Tech Seeks Series Finish
With Game 1 in hand, Texas Tech now has the lead in the Super Regional and needs one more win to advance. The offensive pattern is clear: when Williams, Allred and Quiroga all deliver extra-base hits, the Red Raiders can absorb a big swing game and still finish with the result they needed.
