Regional police say two suspects are linked to six makeup thefts from pharmacies in Cambridge and waterloo between April 23 and May 1. The products taken are worth about $13,000, and investigators have released photos of the pair while asking anyone with information to come forward.
Cambridge and Waterloo pharmacies
The thefts happened during the evening at separate pharmacies on at least six occasions. Police say the same two females are believed to be involved in the string of incidents and want to identify and speak with them about the case.
The focus on Cambridge comes after investigators had already been tracking retail thefts along Hespeler Road and Franklin Boulevard. Through February and March, police investigated 37 retail thefts there and laid 75 charges, including 57 theft-related charges.
Police photos and tips
Regional police released photos of the pair as part of the search. Anyone with information about the thefts can contact police at 519-570-9777, extension 6404.
The time window gives store owners and pharmacy staff a narrow range to review if they were open during the evening hours between April 23 and May 1. For police, the six reported thefts across two cities point to a pattern that crossed store locations rather than a single isolated loss.
The case now turns on identification. Until then, the practical next step for anyone who saw the suspects or noticed suspicious activity in a pharmacy is to use the tip line and share what they know.
