karl bayern has Lennart Karl and Raphael Guerreiro back in the squad for Wednesday’s Champions League semifinal second leg against Paris Saint-Germain. Both had missed the first leg with muscle fiber tears. Bayern now get two fit players back for a night that starts at 21 Uhr in the Allianz Arena.
Allianz Arena return leg
Bayern still carry the weight of that first-leg loss, a 4:5 defeat that leaves little room for error in Munich. The squad news gives the hosts two more options, but neither player is expected to be in the starting lineup yet.
Karl’s return answers the main Bayern question before kickoff. He was absent from the opening leg because of injury, then made it back into the group for the rematch with PSG. Guerreiro is in the same position after the same problem.
Dietlindenstraße disruption
The trip to the stadium has already carried its own disruption. Around 100 Paris Saint-Germain fans had to leave the U-Bahn in the Dietlindenstraße area, and the Munich police later placed the incident at the station there.
Seven kilometers away at Säbener Straße, Bayern’s bus left with fans lining the route in a guard of honor. The contrast is stark: one side dealt with police intervention near the station, while the other received a strong send-off before the semifinal return leg.
Bayern options on Wednesday
For Bayern, the practical change is simple. Two injured players are available again, and one of them, Karl, is back in the frame for a match the club has to chase after conceding five in the first leg.
That leaves the immediate lineup picture narrow. Bayern have added depth, but the expected starting side still has to do the heavy lifting against PSG at 21 Uhr in Munich.
