Alofiana Khan-pereira has made a fast start in Auckland, scoring six tries in four appearances for the New Zealand Warriors after leaving the Gold Coast Titans. The move came after the Titans told him he could look for an opportunity at another club, with a source citing attitude concerns and off-field issues.
Warriors back Khan-Pereira
He backed that up in his most recent game, scoring a double in the Warriors' 36-14 win over the Eels. The early return has put his finish on full display, and the Warriors are delighted with his professionalism.
Titans clean-out aftermath
The split formed part of a Titans clean-out at the end of last year that also sent David Fifita to the Rabbitohs. Khan-Pereira signed with the Warriors after being told he could move on, and the club's view was that the decision was not about his on-field ability.
It took him a number of weeks to get into the first-grade set-up, but injuries opened the door and he forced his way into the team. His contract is a long-term deal, and Will Warbrick is due to join him in Auckland next year.
Warriors wing plans
The Warriors expect Khan-Pereira and Warbrick to be their wingers moving forward, which leaves little doubt about where the club sees him fitting once the squad is fully in place. For the Titans, the parting of ways is already looking harder to justify on what he has produced in New Zealand.
